Big thanks to the Canadian Government for their financial contribution to our high-tech lathe.
This has expanded our capability to quickly maintain our spinner lids in top condition. We were successful at finding a remote programmer that could write code for us to create a lid program. We then installed the code onto the lathe and made modifications to the tooling for the setup. We are now replacing worn out spinner lids with new lids created efficiently and effectively with the lathe. The new lids help us reduce scrap and to create a consistent product. The lathe cannot run without top in house talent. Post covid, we were able to attract Tracy Armstrong to our Bancroft Ontario location who is successfully operating and running our lathe today. Tracy comes to us via the Canadian Military, and we are proud to have her onboard to help us move forward with enhanced manufacturing. Our next project for the new lathe will be to create in house blanks. This will move us closer to our goal of zero scrap and further our ability to continually meet high quality product standards.
