Unitized Pistons have an anodized aluminum core, but are also available with untreated aluminum or steel cores. A polyurethane outer layer is molded over the piston and bonded to it. The polyurethane provides a smooth wear surface as well as two sealing lips for double acting capability. An o-ring groove is machined into the piston bore for the static seal. There is also an option for an O.D. grove to receive a magnet.
Unitized Pistons are designed for pneumatic cylinders with pressures up to 150 P.S.I. Typical applications are pneumatic power clamps.
